aaron--artwork is glorious. i want to know so much more about the story, though. whats the city name? whats it like...political climate? what do the different procedures mean? whats the scoop on yr mysterious protagonist?
I'm in a great debate with my self as to how much information I want to give out to the "reader" right up front. The path I think I'm on right now is the one where I'm going to try and put the reader in the same position as LOK and that is, he really doesn't know...he doesn't exist for any other reason than for what he's doing at that exact moment in time. He has no past, no future except for the next 15 or so minutes. So in that frame of mind I'm trying to make all the other information Irrelevant. Now of course all the background information does come out at some point and you eventually will get this cascading event that will continue to grow. I plan to start this in the proceeding chapter (about 10 pages down the line).
As for defining the different procedures, I knew when I introduced them into the story that some how I was going to need to explain them to the "reader" but I'm still trying to figure out how to do this. Two ideas I have are...have a link at the bottom of the page that goes to an "index". Or use the characters within the story to convey the explanations (reference Star Trek). Right now I'm leaning towards the "index" idea but I'm hesitant about adding too much "stuff" on the page and detracting from the art, plus making the "reader" click about the website to get all that info may detract from its appeal...oh, another debate...
